I saw a bee yesterday, a bumblebee in fact. It was carrying so much pollen that it was nearly completely yellow. Most I had ever seen on one bee. Thanks for asking!
if you dig ISIS or other similar bands, check out Windmills By The Ocean. Such an awesome record. Im jealous of it. Well them, not it... and not really. Ok a little... im over it.
Today was such a nice cool day. In the 70's with a light breeze. Made me really long for fall and winter. I hate the heat. I would fight it if I could. Knock that mofo right out. Im insane. More winter pics to come
I circled this frog a few times, and moved some arborvitaes near him and he never left his spot, or took his eyes off of me. Must have been a cherished post.
this was my cat Dawn. She was recently eaten by something. Blunt I know, but it's what happened. Anyway, this is my favorite pic of her, and I felt like sharing. I dont care what you think.
i seem to have a fascination with planes lately. Between the B17 and some old Mustangs (the plane, not the car) and I think I saw a C17 or something similar today... just cant get enough.
I wonder what it would feel like to be out on that wing. What else you could see, and what it might sound like. And what those things that look like burn marks are...
Been listening to Wesley Willis off and on all evening. Polaroid, see what develops. I like the blur in this picture. It obviously wasnt what I had intended, but interesting anyway.
bear, lion, rhino, shaggy dog ATTACK! (matt f. 2009)
Thats just what i see. The bear on the bottom, lion on the right, rhino above that, and then the shaggy dog to the left, above the bears head. You know... like the shaggy dog from those old Disney movies. Yeah. Im whacked. Its ok. Im ok.
This is the Liberty Belle. A B-17 Flying Fortress from the WWII Era. Imagine 800 or more of these flying over. Holy shit. Thats what I would be thinking. Holy shit.
I found him/her drying its wings under a table at work. Looked like it just hatched. I moved it (i know, i shouldnt, but read on) out into the sun so that it could dry faster and escape imminent danger from various other creatures that patrol that area. Within two hours I saw it take its first flight. Quite satisfying, and beautiful.
natures HAL. The halo is formed by ice crystals in the atmosphere, for a quick reference check this blog Ronda's Wonderland, or this link on wikipedia)
Ive never seen a nest like the one with the entry tunnel. At least not a paper nest like that. Not sure what occupied it. If you know, share the knowledge! The other nest is a paper wasp nest. Ive become all too familiar with those beautiful bastards in the past few weeks. Really stunning to look at, but the sting is brutal. Beauty in pain i guess.
(obviously these are two different nests. Unfortunately the one in Blue on Blue was abandoned due to it being a heavy traffic area (its in a nursery, the tree was for sale. I dont want any of your bleeding heart animal rights stuff. Trust me, im on your side. I dont need the comments.)
